The procet in Nepal is especially targeted for rural women and girls. The goal of the project is to improve their sexual health knowledge and to improve the access to health services.

Multi Purpose Resource Centres and youth forums have been created for adolescents. Through them young volunteers have received education on sexual health matters and have been able to work independently as peer-educators and advocates. In trainings and in their networks they have learned how to talk about the meaning of sexual health with their parents, teachers and decision makers.
Once aware of the risks and solutions, young girls can avoid too early and frequent pregnancies as well as sexually transmitted infections.
Multi Purpose Resource Centres
Multi Purpose Resource Centres have provided adolescents health services but also employment opportunities. Centres have been established because adolescents themselves have wanted to do practical work in order to promote sexual health in their villages. Young trained volunteers have also provided small health services. There are also micro credit groups in the Centres.
In addition to providing health information services, the young organize different events dealing with relationships between men and women, how to prevent unwanted pregnancies and sexually transmitted infections, and safe abortions.
Information regarding sexual health is given to all villagers, and therefore the project is being implemented together with the local communities. With this cooperation, the project aims e.g. in influencing local attitudes to see the harm of sending girls to India where the majority of them end up working in the sex industry.
The project is implemented by the Family Planning Association of Nepal (FPAN) in cooperation with the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF).
